A set of autonomous creatures move about and communicate using a wireless Internet connection. They engage in solo and choreographed group activities. The sound of their motors, motion and engagement creates an eerie soundtrack. These robots are modelled after an imaginary jade-green preying mantis - a mechanical creature that is described in the "Martian Chronicles" (by Ray Bradbury). The robots are adaptable to both indoor and outdoor environments - galleries, sidewalks, parks, and performance spaces. This CD is composed of recordings of the robots in action. It was originally produced in Vienna for broadcast in 5.1 surround sound on Kunstradio ORF. The CD remix is a stereo version with some additional sounds recorded using wire coils.
